Make-N-Take Rain Barrel Workshops

Backyard conservation efforts made in your backyard can help protect our streams and rivers!

Rain barrels collect rainwater and decrease the amount of stormwater runoff from our properties. Using rain barrels is one small way to reduce your impact on local waterways and be a good steward of our precious water resources, as well as lower your summer water usage from watering your gardens!

The St. Joseph River Watershed Initiative has partnered with the Maumee Watershed Alliance and ACRES Land Trust to offer two rain barrel workshops on May 11, 2024, as part of their Cedar Creek Watershed project funded through a grant from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. In this workshop you will learn about the Cedar Creek watershed and how small efforts we make at home can have a huge impact on water quality AND make your very own rain barrel to take home with you.

Learn about local water quality and make your own rain barrel.
