Where does all the waste go?
How CFOs impact local waterways in Indiana.
The SRAP Water Rangers Program will present on how CFOs in Indiana impact local waterways and what opportunities there are to hold the facilities accountable with tools like water monitoring.
Presenters:
Lynn Henning (She/Her)
Lynn Henning emerged as a leading voice in the environmental movement, calling on state and federal authorities to hold industrial livestock operations accountable to water and air quality laws. With her husband, Lynn farms 300 acres of corn and soybeans in Lenawee County, Michigan, within 10 miles of 12 CAFOs. Because of her pioneering work to stop pollution from factory farms, and to hold state and federal agencies accountable for enforcing laws, Lynn won the 2010 Goldman Environmental Prize—the environmental equivalent of the Nobel Prize.
Cole Dickerson (He/Him)
Cole Dickerson joined SRAP in 2022 with a B.S. in environmental sciences and an M.S. in sustainable food systems. He is a community engagement specialist on the topics of water quality and social justice and is driven to advocate for environmental and social conditions that promote our health and well-being. In this work, he draws on the lessons learned growing up in a rich agricultural town and river haven in Virginia. He recently moved back in 2025.
